Anacapa History

Anacapa Concrete was originally formed in 1978 under the name Roda Concrete. Roberto Najera began working for the company shortly after he immigrated to California from Acapulco, Mexico in 1972, and landed in Santa Barbara in 1974. In 1982 Roberto Najera became a legal US Citizen and founding partner along with John Kinnear and the business name was officially changed to Anacapa Concrete.

Later on in 1985 the company was incorporated and John Kinnear sold his stake in the business to the Najera family who own and operates the company to date. Daniel Najera joined the company in 2000 after he was honorably discharged from his tour of duty in the Marines. Esperanza joined Anacapa as an accounting and financial officer after she graduated from Santa Barbara Business College in 1993 with a Degree in accounting.

Since its inception, Anacapa Concrete has laid many of the landmark foundations in Santa Barbara from Crane School and the Montecito Country Club, to the Marborg Recycling Facility, to the Quinta Isabella condo complex. This company has been instrumental in numerous projects across Santa Barbara county. For a more detailed list of properies, check the client list on the menu above.
